MFU Alumnus Wins the First Prize with an Award of 50,000,000 THB

     Mae Fah Luang University would like to congratulate Mr. Pollawat Deeunkong, CEO of the Image Engine Company Limited and his team ‘Campfire’ for winning the first prize worth 50,000,000 Baht in Metaverse Thailand Hackathon Presented by TECHTORO held in Thailand Crypto Expo 2022 at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (Bitec) on 12 May 2022.

     Competing against 100 teams under a concept of Meta growth hacking, the Campfire team led by Mr. Pollawat Deeunkong was the winner who received a fund and a three-year contract from Metaverse Thailand supported by the National Innovation Agency, Thailand (NIA) and Asia Wealth Securities Company Limited (AWS).

     Mr. Pollawat Deeunkong is an alumnus of the Multimedia Technology and Animation programme, the School of Information Technology, Mae Fah Luang University who participated in the project of Business Incubation from the Northern Science Park, Mae Fah Luang University (MFUNSP) to be an innovator. His startup journey started with winning an award in the national round of Startup Thailand League in 2018. Mr. Deeunkong and team were awarded 1.5 million baht from the Youth Startup Fund 2021, a project under the Technology and Innovation-Based Enterprise Development Fund (TED Fund) of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (OPS) and a fund from NIA during 2019 – 2022. Moreover, Mr. Deeunkong represented the Northern Thailand to compete in Nilmungkorn the Reality (Business Innovation TV Competition Show) during November 2021 – April 2022.

     Mr. Pollawat Deeunkong’s accomplishment indicates MFU’s efforts in promoting students’ entrepreneurial mindset and assisting them in any stage of business development especially MFU Intellectual Property Management and Innovation Division. MFU hopes that this success story will help inspire other students to find passion, acquire knowledge and successfully turn a great idea into a reality.
