The Office of the Permanent Secretary, The Prime Minister’s Office, The Kingdom of Thailand will be held the 2nd ASEAN Youth Representatives Experiencing in the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy during 11-21 March 2018 at Bangkok and the nearest area of the central region. A 11-day international exchange programme focusing on learning and experiencing in the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) linkage to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations through keynote lectures, on-site educational visit, cultural visit, hand-on field activities and lesson learned group discussion.
This programme invited the youth representatives from 10 ASEAN countries and the 2 guest countries which are the Kingdom of Bhutan and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sir Lanka to participate the programme totally 70 youth representatives. This programme provide the precious opportunity to learn, practice and experience mainly focusing on the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy through theory, site visit of the royal initiatives in central regions of Thailand, and participation in the related activities. Besides, it is also a good opportunity to launch a youth connectivity network on realizing the SEP guiding the way to sustainable development.
Participant Qualifications
1) Have an education background/ be interested in His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty the Queen Sirikit of the Kingdom of Thailand’s Initiatives and/or Royal Projects in Thailand
2) Be a citizen and resident of ASEAN +2 (Bhutan + Sri Lanka) Member States
3) Must be at least 18 years old and no more than 25 years old
4) Be creative, and possess the potential leadership skill
5) Have an experience in related activities or projects (if any)
6) Possess functional level of written and spoken English
7) Be able to actively participate in discussion, and deliver presentations in English
8) Be in good health to be able to attend the whole programme and well-prepared for camping and travelling
Funding
The Office of the Permanent Secretary, the Prime Minister’s Office, as the host shall bear the following costs during the programme which include
1) Domestic travel cost
2) Hotel accommodation cost during participation in the programme
3) Inland transportation for all official visits in the programme
4) Food expenses (meals)
5) Activity expenses
Please note: All expenses for candidate interview on 26 January 2018 at Bangkok will support by MFU.
