On 1 October 2017, students from the Economics programme in the School of Management won the first prize and second prize in the regional round of the Economics Paper Contest and advanced to the national round which will be held on 9 November 2017.
This contest was organized by the Bank of Thailand in collaboration with the Office of the Higher Education Commission and the supported Economic education institutes. The aims of this contest were to support and provide a venue for undergraduates and postgraduates who are interested in the fields of Economics and Monetary Economics to present their research advances.
MFU would like to congratulate all students on their achievements in the Bachelor's Level Best Paper Award category. Miss Chanikarn Thammarungrote and Miss Pattra Pakdeesettaphong who won the first prize and received 10,000 baht with their work on“The effect of Chinese FDI on Thai economy” and also Mr. Thundanai Yoosamran who received the second prize and 6,000 baht with his paper “Happy Planet Index of Ban Huay Hin Lad Nai community in Wiangpapao district, Chiang Rai province.”
The accomplishments of the Economics students emphasize the aims of the School to train students to understand the general economic framework to apply econometrics tools for conducting in depth analysis of the Upper North and GMS Subregion economy.
