On 3 November 2017, Assistant Governor-Services of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) Mr.Worrapoj Manaphanpong and Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chayaporn Wattanasiri presided over the technology transfer collaboration ceremony held by the School of Information Technology. This event served as a platform to present to EGAT technologies developed by MFU students, which were showcased in the Mae Fah Luang University Multimedia and Animation Contest 2017 (MMAC2017).
Signing an agreement of collaboration in the field of Information Technology in 2011, EGAT and MFU aim to provide a channel for students to enhance their skills and potential, as well as further develop the software systems used by EGAT. In the fiscal year 2017, 39 MFU students have developed 14 software systems to increase EGAT’s service efficiency.
On the whole, this practical work done by this university’s IT students reflects the effort of MFU to support graduates who are able to ‘think creatively and put their ideas into practice’, with integrity and profound knowledge of information technology for programme development and application, as well as developing student skills in information technology management for organisations and industries.
