On 28 February 2022, Mae Fah Luang University had the great honour of receiving Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who, on behalf of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, presided over MFU’s commencement ceremony for the Academic Year 2020 at the C4 Princess Mother Auditorium. This commencement marked the graduation of MFU’s 19th class of students. In total, 3,034 Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and Doctoral degree graduates were eligible to attend the degree presentation ceremony.
This year, MFU presented an Honorary Doctorate in Dentistry to Adjunct Professor Thanpuying Petchara Techakampuch in recognition of her outstanding contributions in the development of dental innovation and oral healthcare system in Thailand. Moreover, Mr. Wuttichai Saelee, the second blind student in Thailand who used Chinese Braille books and materials as the main medium of studying and learning and a graduate from the Bachelor of Arts Programme in Chinese Language and Culture, the School of Sinology attended the commencement ceremony along with other graduates from the School of Agro-Industry, the School of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, the School of Cosmetic Science, the School of Dentistry, the School of Health Science, the School of Information Technology, the School of Integrative Medicine, the School of Law, the School of Liberal Arts, the School of Management, the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, the School of Science, and the School of Social Innovation.
On this occasion, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn delivered a royal address, stating that all the hard work graduates had done paid off and they successfully graduated. Next step for graduates is to look for a job in order to achieve the true and sustainable benefits, both for oneself and for the nation. To excel and achieve career success, graduates need to learn and understand the basics of their work. Graduates also need to select and apply knowledge and skills that are appropriate to a particular job or situation in order to get their work done smoothly and effectively. In addition, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn wished success and prosperity to every graduate and all the people who attended the ceremony.
Furthermore, the President presented HRH Princess with a set of products developing from research of MFU under the University to Tambon (U2T) or the Integrated Economic and Social Enhancement Project (One Tambon One University). Under this project, MFU researchers from the School of Agro-Industry, the School of Management, project officer and Nang Lae Sub-district Municipality worked together to improve and add value to local products such as Phu Lae pineapple, Nang Lae pineapples and pork using food technology.
