On 10 – 11 November 2022, the School of Agro-Industry organised the 4th International Conference on Agriculture and Agro-Industry 2022 (ICAAI2022) under the theme of “Transforming Value Chains for Global Security” at E4 building, Mae Fah Luang University.
The purpose of this conference was to bring together international scholars and entrepreneurs working in the field of Agriculture and Agro-Industry to discuss the past, present, and the future of scientific developments in food and agriculture to provide more secure and safe food and to sustain as well as to capitalize the practical business along the food chain from farm to fork.
Particularly, the conference invited Professor Dr. Kalidas Shetty, Founding Director of Global Institute of Food Security and International Agriculture (GIFSIA), USA and Professor Dr. Diane M. Beckles, Department of Plant Science, University of California, USA to give keynote speeches on “Advancing global food systems for climate resilient food security and human health” and “Future postharvest research trends for a sustainable society – creating and delivering better fruit and vegetables” respectively.
Moreover, there were a series of special sessions by invited speakers from Argentina, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand; exhibition; tea tasting and coffee cupping workshops; as well as oral and poster sessions in smart agriculture and agriculture information processing, postharvest and packaging technology, food processing technology and innovation, nutraceutical and functional food, food security and sustainability and other related topics.
Altogether, the conference was a great success contributing to socioeconomic development and global food security.
