On 7 – 18 November 2022, Dr.Archariya Wongburanavart, a lecturer of the School of Law, Mae Fah Luang University was selected to participate in the 18th edition of WIPO-WTO Colloquium for Teachers of Intellectual Property at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and World Trade Organization (WTO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
During the two-week colloquium, 23 participants from different countries exchanged ideas, discussed challenges, and gained insights into IP policy and legal issues, including public health, economic and social development, biotechnology, traditional knowledge, technology transfer and enforcement. More than 30 experts from WIPO, the WTO, other intergovernmental organisations, non-governmental organisations, delegations and industries were invited to speak and to have an interactive discussion with the participants. Moreover, participants benefited from the opportunity to present their academic research papers on current policies and legal issues, which will be published in the next edition of the WIPO-WTO Colloquium Papers.
This annual Colloquium for Teachers of Intellectual Property was jointly organised by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the World Trade Organization with the aim to provide a unique opportunity for intellectual property (IP) teachers and researchers to enhance their knowledge on new emerging IP issues under debate at the international level, to share experiences and challenges in IP teaching, and to learn more about the latest IP teaching and research methodologies and trends.
