On 25 May 2023, H.E. Ms. Angela Jane Macdonald, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, Dr. Gemma Edgar Counselor (Development) and Dr. Rutmanee Ongsakul, Senior Program Manager from the Australian Embassy in Thailand paid a courtesy visit on Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, Acting President of Mae Fah Luang University and Prof. Dr.Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Acting Vice President at Vanchai Sirichana building (AD1), Mae Fah Luang University.
During the meeting, the Australian Ambassador to Thailand congratulated Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn on her appointment as Acting President of Mae Fah Luang University and discussed the collaboration between Mae Fah Laung University and the Australian Embassy in Thailand.
Mae Fah Luang University has always received the support from the Australian Government for environmental research and border studies in GMS to raise people’s awareness and understanding. Moreover, the School of Nursing, Mae Fah Luang University and the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Deakin University, Australia jointly held the training programme for Deakin University students to learn Thailand’s nursing education, applied Thai traditional medicine, and health promotion in cross-border areas from 21 – 28 January 2023.
Therefore, this visit has indeed nurtured and strengthened friendly relations between Thailand and Australia in supporting each other for mutual development and prosperity.
