Mae Fah Luang University would like to congratulate Menjong Sorig Pharmaceuticals (MSP), the Pharmaceutical and Research Unit under the Department of Traditional Medicine, the Ministry of Health of Bhutan on the successful launch of four natural products on 5 April 2018.
The four products namely the Himalayan Gooseberry Anti-wrinkle cream, Turmeric soap, Soapnut soap and Rhododendron Hand Sanitizer, were developed through the academic cooperation between Mae Fah Luang University and the Department of Traditional Medicine Services (DTMS).
In 2015, MFU and DTMS signed a Memorandum of Understanding for an academic cooperation in Cosmetic Science. Since then, MFU has held a training sessions for the staff of the Department of Traditional Medicine Services (DTMS) focusing on the use and practice of sustainable and environmentally friendly methods. For example, MFU held a workshop on developing soap from natural products in 2015 and a workshop on up-scaling the production of both soap and cream in 2016.
All in all, MFU will continue its research, and provide academic services and training in Cosmetic Science. With its academic experts and modern facilities, MFU has committed itself to improving people’s well-being, enhance the sustainability of our communities, and foster long-term collaboration between Thailand and Bhutan.
