Mae Fah Luang University and University Hospital Bonn, Germany, Sign MoA to Advance Nursing Education

On 31 January 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chompunut Sopajaree, Dean of the School of Nursing, Mae Fah Luang University, and Mr. Alexander Proebstl, Director of Nursing of University Hospital Bonn, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the School of Nursing, Mae Fah Luang University, and the UKB Directorate of Nursing, University Hospital Bonn, Germany. 

The ceremony, which took place in Doi Tung meeting room, Vanchai Sirichana Building (AD1), was attended by MFU executives led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University; Prof. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President; deans from various schools; and a delegation from University Hospital Bonn (UKB) led by Prof. Dr. Bernd Weber, Dean of Medical Faculty of the University of Bonn and Acting CEO of University Hospital Bonn (UKB).

This agreement focuses on student exchange and academic cooperation development between the two institutions, particularly in nursing, which will cultivate skilled nursing professionals through academic exchange and clinical training opportunities. This partnership marks a significant milestone in advancing international nursing education and cross-border healthcare collaboration by providing opportunities for students to learn and exchange experiences internationally. 

The signing ceremony was part of a collaborative visit from University Hospital Bonn from 30 January to 3 February 2025. The UKB delegation also visited Mae Fah Luang University Medical Center, School of Dentistry, and Wellness Center, and held discussions on medical science and health cooperation with various departments, including the School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, School of Nursing, and the Medicinal Plant Innovation Center of Mae Fah Luang University. 

Moreover, UKB representatives engaged with third- and fourth-year MFU nursing students, offering insights into student exchange programmes, career pathways, and training opportunities in Germany. This session further reinforced the shared commitment of both institutions to preparing globally competent nursing professionals.
