The Global Relations Division and Amnesty International Thailand co-organised a capacity-building workshop on human rights for students interested in advocating for human rights from 14 to 16 May 2025 at M for U centre, Mae Fah Luang University.

The workshop, supported by Amnesty International Thailand as part of the Amnesty Club project (Northern region), engaged 20 students from the MFU Human Rights Club and the Chiang Rai Rajabhat University Student Administrative Organisation.

The project aimed to develop essential skills for being change-makers, improve knowledge and understanding of human rights principles, and create a network of youth passionate about fairness and equality to participate in driving human right activities within university. To help participants gain confidence in designing and implementing creative human right projects, the workshop consisted of interactive activities allowing them to exchange perspectives through case studies and practical sessions.

With the lessons learned during the workshop, students from the MFU Human Rights Club are determined to support various activities that enhance understanding of human rights issues within the campus, aligning with the university’s human rights policy. This workshop was a valuable platform for students from universities in the Northern Thailand to collaborate in propelling human rights issues onto the regional stage.
