From 2 to 5 April 2019, Mae Fah Luang University held the Senior Officials Meeting for the 20th ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matter (SOM ACCSM) Liaison Officers Workshop for staff from the Office of the Civil Service Commission, Thailand, led by Director of Office of the Executive Staff, the Office of the Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Siriwan Menabodhi.
This workshop aimed at preparing liaison officers to represent Thailand and welcome international guests to the Preparatory Meeting and the Senior Officials Meeting for the 20th ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matter which will be held on 22-24 April 2019 in Chiang Rai province.
There were 26 participants including staff from the Office of the Civil Service Commission and MFU students participated in the four-day programme, which was divided into two parts: lectures and field trip. On the first day of workshop, the Director of Office of the Executive Staff, the Office of the Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Siriwan Menabodhi informed participants an overview of the Preparatory Meeting and the Senior Officials Meeting for the 20th ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matter. After that, Vice President of MFU, Assist. Prof. Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont gave a lecture on “Chiang Rai in Brief: All Liaisons Need to Know” offering useful information about Chiang Rai province covering general information, prominent people of Chiang Rai, famous tourist attractions and restaurants, as well as the venue of the meeting: the Riverie by Katathani hotel.
By visiting tourist attractions such as White Temple, Tham Luang Cave and Black House Museum, the participants gained a deeper information about the history of each of tourist attractions in Chiang Rai Province, so they could arrange informative and entertaining trips for their future guests.
On the whole, this workshop served as a tremendous resource for all participants to broaden their knowledge and necessary information about Chiang Rai province, all of which they can apply to receive honourable guests, as effective and impressive liaison officers.
