Chinese Embassy and Consulate General Delegations Pay Courtesy Visit to MFU to Deepen Ties and Cooperation

On 27 May 2026, a delegation from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Bangkok, led by H.E. Mr. Zhang Jianwei, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Thailand, alongside a delegation from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Chiang Mai, led by Mr. Chen Haiping, Consul General, paid a courtesy visit to Asst. Prof. Dr.Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Laung University, and MFU executives at the Vanchai Sirichana Building (AD1).

During the visit, representatives from the Chinese Embassy and MFU discussed potential areas of cooperation. Furthermore, H.E. Mr. Zhang Jianwei delivered a special lecture titled “New Opportunities Brought by China’s High-Quality Development to China-Thailand Relations” to MFU executives and students. This session aimed to celebrate and further deepen the long-standing relations between China and Thailand, while promoting knowledge about China’s development among MFU community, contributing to widening global perspective and preparing for opportunities in cooperation with China.

H.E. Mr. Zhang Jianwei also visited the Sirindhorn Chinese Language and Culture Center and the Confucius Institute, where he was warmly received by Professor Dr. Vanchai Sirichana, Chairman of the University Council. During this visit, the Ambassador met with teachers and explore the rich history of China-MFU relations, as well as the university’s ongoing effort to promote Chinese language teaching and cultural exchanges.

Since the establishment of the university, Mae Fah Luang University and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China have maintained a long-standing and faithful relationship through several official courtesy visits, numerous academic and cultural activities, as well as the establishment of both the Sirindhorn Chinese Language and Culture Center and the Confucius Institute at MFU. 

The visit reflects the strong and enduring relationship between MFU and the People's Republic of China, marking a significant opportunity to deepen cooperation in academics, education, and cultural exchange.
