On 11 July 2019, Mae Fah Luang University executives led by the Founding President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanchai Sirichana and the President of Mae Fah Luang University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chayaporn Wattanasiri visited Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE) in China. The invitation was extended by YUFE as a follow-up visit after the agreement signing between MFU and YUFE on 25 April 2019.
In the meeting with YUFE executives led by Chairman of Council of YUFE, Dr. Wang Jianying and Dr. Yin Hong, Vice President for International Affairs, the two universities discussed student exchange programme at both undergraduate and graduate levels in Chinese business, economics, Chinese language and other possible fields.
Moreover, both universities agreed to develop the Chinese Business double degree programme. For visiting professor programme, YUFE agreed to send professors to give a lecture for MFU students particularly at the School of Sinology and the School of Management. In addition, MFU professors will teach YUFE students Thai language and culture.
Additionally, to provide a platform for creating a better understanding and good friendship in the region, MFU and YUFE will formulate the Research Working Group as well as co-organise the International Conference in the concerned themes such as policies and strategic economic development of China, poverty reduction and BRI.
