To develop human capacity and foster partnership between Mae Fah Luang University and Oudomxay Province, the Capacity Building Workshop on International Relations for government officers and staff members responsible for international affairs from Oudomxay Province, Lao PDR was held at Mae Fah Luang University on 19-23 August 2019.
MFU initiated this special workshop for ten staff members who were in charge of international affairs from Oudomxay Province led by Deputy Head of International Affairs, Mr. Visai Indala. The purpose of the workshop was to help participants learn and improve their skills which will beneficial to complete international tasks. The workshop also intended to boost and extend an academic cooperation between Mae Fah Luang University and Oudomxay Province.
Sessions of ASEAN community, diplomatic protocol, etiquette, conference planning, professional emcee, and grant proposal writing were arranged by Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nantana Gajaseni; lecturer at the School of Management, Asst. Prof. Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont and lecturer at the School of Social Innovation, Dr. Nichan Singhaputargun.
Overall, this workshop has been a promising success and has produced fruitful outcomes. The meaningful and essential projects on tourism, disaster and waste management have been planned to improve people’s well-being and enhance the sustainability of communities in Lao PDR.
MFU will continue offering academic service to enhance sustainable development in the Greater Mekong Subregion and beyond.
