MFU is One of the Top Ten Higher Education Institutions in Thailand for 8 Consecutive Years

          For the SIR 2020, Mae Fah Luang University has been ranked the 8th out of 26 Thai universities, ranked the 268th out of 1,369 universities in Asia and ranked the 734th out of 3,897 universities worldwide. Furthermore, the percentiles of MFU for the research, innovation and societal impact sections are 53, 61 and 61 respectively. The result showed the potential for research and innovation at MFU which corresponds with the university policy to support research and innovation. From the beginning, MFU established the Center of Excellence, special research units, research groups and academic services in various scientific fields with the purpose of improving the quality of life of the people in the community.

       Since 2013, Mae Fah Luang University has been ranked in the top 10 of Research Higher Education Institutions in Thailand. The university's high ranking illustrates high visibility of the university at the global level and also emphasized high efficiency of research and innovative activities of the MFU staff members.

      MFU has strong intention to maintain leadership at the national level and make our institution a world class university with high quality research, and innovative and activities to benefit society.

     The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) is a classification of academic and research-related institutions ranked by a composite indicator that combines three different sets of indicators based on research performance, innovation outputs and societal impact measured by their web visibility obtained over the period of 2014-2018. The criterion for research is that the institutions had published at least 100 works included in the SCOPUS database during the last year of the selected time period. The source of information used for innovation indicators is PATSTAT database while the sources indicating the web visibility are Google and Ahrefs.
