MFU Joins Hands with Partners to Promote COVID-19 Vaccination in Chiang Rai

Currently, the MFU Wellness Centre, the Centre of Academic Services, the Sub-District Health Promoting Hospitals and the Deputy District Chief have cooperated under the University to Tambon (U2T) project to encourage local people in Nanglae, Thasud, and Mae Khao Tom Sub-districts especially the older adults and people with underlying diseases to register for the COVID-19 vaccines to achieve herd immunity. The University has teamed up with the community to raise people’s awareness about the benefits of vaccination and how to take care of themselves during the COVID-19 pandemic. MFU will run a vaccination campaign until people in Chiang Rai province receive the vaccines thoroughly.

The President of Mae Fah Luang University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chayaporn Wattanasiri stated that the University is preparing the MFU Medical Center Hospital for being the COVID-19 vaccination centre for older adults and people with seven underlying diseases (chronic respiratory diseases, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, stroke or cerebrovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity). MFU will also provide the COVID-19 vaccination service for MFU students, staff and the general public once the vaccines have been allocated to the University.
