MLII Innovative Opening: Modernize Education, Innovate Ecosystem, Empower Teaching

     On 7 July 2021, the MFU Learning Innovation Institute held the MLII Innovative Opening Ceremony under the theme “Modernize education, Innovate ecosystem, Empower teaching” at the E4 Building.

     The MFU Learning Innovation Institute (MLII) was established to be a main organisation for promoting modern education, developing learning innovation, building capacity of lecturers and promoting supportive learning environment. Furthermore, MLII have three main missions including 1. Thinking (think about educational system, educational development plan, and research on educational innovations); 2. Producing (produce and develop new learning system and learning innovations as well as supply supporting facilities); and 3. Transferring (transfer knowledge and skill needed to help lecturers improve their ability and prepare them for modern education).

   Moreover, there was the MLII Learning Innovation Awards 2021 presentation ceremony in recognition of lecturers’ achievement in utilising technology to facilitate an interactive process of teaching and learning. The winners in four categories are as follows:

 Ms. Raksuda Taniguchi from the School of Integrative Medicine

- Technology-Enhanced Learning Award

Dr. Prapamon Seeprasert from the School of Health Science

- Online Champion Course Award

Mr. Phutawan Ho from the School of Management

     There was also the handover ceremony of the MFU Digital Learning Online Course Chinese 2 to the School of Sinology. This interactive course consists of 10 lessons that help learners learn Chinese vocabulary, sentence patterns, basic grammar, with an emphasis on everyday application in order to facilitate effective communication in various situations.

     Additionally, MLII is initiating the MFU Academy Project, a learning platform for public learners, with an aim to transfer knowledge from the university to build lifelong learning skills, reskill and upskill through different non-degree courses. The online and interactive courses of MFU such as Introduction to Aromatherapy Massage, Pediatric Basic Life Support, Chinese Language Academy: Interactive Chinese Challenge 1 and Special Interest Tourism Management are available at academy.mfu.ac.th. Learners can study anything, anywhere, at any time for free and get e-certificates from MFU after completing the courses.

     All in all, the MFU Learning Innovation Institute (MLII) shows MFU’s effort to support and promote modern education which will help its students and public learners acquire essential 21st-century skills particularly self-directed learning skill necessary for effective lifelong learning.
