MFU Leads Thai Universities in ‘THE’ 2022 World University Rankings

     MFU tops the ranking for the third consecutive year in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022. Out of more than 1,600 universities across 99 countries and territories (17 of which were Thai higher education institutions), Mae Fah Luang University was ranked in the 601-800 tier alongside Mahidol University in the latest THE 2021 World University Rankings, released on 2 September 2021. 

     The overall score of MFU was 32.0-37.9. Specially, the University performed the strongest in citations at 63.3 and international outlook at 53.0. The President of Mae Fah Luang University, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chayaporn Wattanasiri stated that this ranking is a self-reflection that gives the University a chance to review and plan how to become the “leading university in ASEAN with international recognition.”

     MFU will make all the necessary effort to maintain its national academic leadership status and to make our institution a world class university that serves society with high-quality research, teaching and internationalised activities.

     The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are the only global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: Teaching 30% (the learning environment); Research 30% (volume, income and reputation); Citations 30% (research influence); International outlook 7.5% (staff, students and research); and Industry Income 2.5% (knowledge transfer).
