MFU Executives Give Speeches in the 14th International Conference on Educational Research (ICER2021)

     On 10 – 12 September 2021, Mae Fah Luang University executives participated in the 14th International Conference on Educational Research (ICER2021) organised by the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, Thailand under a theme of “Maintaining Education Quality in Turbulent Times”. This virtual conference aimed at providing opportunities for researchers, educators, and instructional developers in the field of education from all over the world to share their research, experience, knowledge, and techniques used in order to educate next generations.

     In the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chayaporn Wattanasiri, the President of Mae Fah Luang University gave an welcome address to participants together with Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., the President of Khon Kaen University; Assoc. Prof. Dr.Sumalee Chaijareon, the Dean of Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University; and Assoc. Prof. Dr.Pattrawadee Makmee, the Dean of College of Research Methodology and Cognitive Science, Burapha University.

     Moreover, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Nantana Gajaseni, the Vice President of MFU and the Director of MFU Learning Innovation Institute (MLII) was the keynote speaker on the topic of "Growth Mindset for Innovative Teaching and Learning in a New Normal". In the speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Nantana Gajaseni stated that in order to respond effectively to the new normal, the Univerity must promote three mindsets including educational mindset, technological mindset, and professional mindset within its lecturers, staff and students. With an objective to enhance growth of teaching and learning, MFU has strongly supported the implementation of MFU Blended Education, MFU Academy (the online courses and training programmes), digital learning ecosystem and capacity building for lecturers. Finally, the transformation of teaching and learning will create an impact on the quality of MFU graduates who will be ready for the disruptive world.

     Also, Asst. Prof. Acting Sub-Lt. Dr.Charoenchai Wongwatkit, the Deputy Director of MFU Learning Innovation Institute (MLII) and a lecturer of the School of Information Technology, held an online workshop on the topic of “Immersive and Smart Learning Applications in Modern Blended Education Series” as a part of the pre-conference workshop session. 

     In addition, there were a series of special topics from the keynote speakers including Prof. Gwo-Jen Hwang, the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan R.O.C.; Prof. Kerry Lee, the Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong; Prof. Kevin Burden, the University of Hulls, United Kingdom; Prof. Yueh-Min Huang, the National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan R.O.C.; Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chailerd Pichitpornchai, M.D., the Institute for Innovative Learning, Mahidol University, Thailand; and Assoc. Prof. Dr.Sumalee Chaijareon, the Dean of Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, Thailand.

     Altogether, MFU always makes every effort to support and promote modern education which will help expand students’ creativity, technological skill and particularly enhance self-directed learning skill necessary for lifelong learning
