MFU Joins the Virtual MOU Signing Ceremony in the 3rd Forum on China-Thailand Higher Education Cooperation & 2021 ACTU Assembly

     On 24 September 2021, the President of Mae Fah Luang University, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chayaporn Wattanasiri signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Academic Cooperation and Exchange with Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, China. Also, Mae Fah Laung University signed an Intercollegiate Cooperation Agreement with Guizhou University, China. 

     The virtual MoU signing ceremonies were parts of the 3rd Forum on China-Thailand Higher Education Cooperation & 2021 ACTU Assembly which was held concurrently with the 14th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) under a theme of “Exploring New Models in the Post-Pandemic Era for Promoting Sino-Thai Higher Education Cooperation in the View of ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative” from 23 - 25 September 2021. In the opening ceremony, there were speeches by the Chairman of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and former Vice-Minister of Education of China, Mr. Liu Limin; and the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand, Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas. 

     Moreover, in the University Presidents’ Forum, the Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Nantana Gajaseni gave the keynote speech on “New Cooperation of Thai-Sino Universities towards Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) in a New Normal.” 

     This forum was hosted both online and onsite by Jiangsu University and Alliance of China-Thailand Universities (ACTU) with aims to provide opportunity for Thai and Chinese universities to develop and strengthen partnerships as well as address issues of common concern. There were three main sessions: 1) Sino-Thai university presidents’ conference; 2) outstanding young students’ forum; and 3) Sino-Thai sustainable agricultural and food development.
