Mae Fah Luang University released the Notification of Mae Fah Luang University on Operational Guidelines for Teaching and Examination, Second Semester, Academic Year 2021 on 19 November 2021. The Notification stated that the teaching of all courses of the second semester, academic year 2021 and the on-campus practical activities that help upskill students will be held at Mae Fah Luang University, Chiang Rai from 5 January 2021 onwards.
With the new semester approaching, MFU is continuing to implement preventive measures to reduce the COVID-19 risks and make sure students can study and socialise safely. The University has created the website “covid19.mfu.ac.th” resporting the latest news and information regarding COVID-19 situation, travelling to Thailand, dormitories and other necessary information. Additionally, MFU will launch “MFU START Application” that consists of several functions including entry registration, self-assessment, vaccine profile, classrooms/laboratories/facilities check-in and check-out, and the real-time information of campus electric vehicles.
MFU also encourage students to have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine in order to live on campus, attend classrooms, participate in activities and utilise services. If students have not received any vaccine, MFU will provide vaccination service at the MFU Medical Centre Hospital. Now, more than 93% of MFU staff members have received at least one dose of vaccine while over 89% of MFU students have received at least one dose of vaccine.
The university has required all lecturers to apply blended learning model to their teaching since the academic year 2020. For this second semester, academic year 2021, classroom-based teaching, activities and discussion will be held using station rotation model with social distancing in order to prevent the spread of disease.
To ensure a clean and safe environment for students, faculty and staff members, MFU has regularly cleaned and disinfected all high-touch surfaces in classrooms, lecture halls, learning spaces, offices, hospitals, dormitories and common areas. Also, temperature check and sanitization stations will be provided throughout campus for frequent handwashing and self-hygiene practices.
