A Visit from the United Nations Development Programme: Cooperation for Achieving the SDGs

     On 7 March 2022, Assistant to the President, Asst. Prof. Dr.Chutamat Niwat warmly welcomed the delegates from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), and Thailand Policy Lab led by UNDP Resident Representative to Thailand, Mr. Renaud Meyer; Senior Advisor of NESDC, Mr. Suriyon Thunkijanukij; and Head of Thailand Policy Lab, Ms. Nitasmai Ransaeva visited Mae Fah Luang University. 

     The purpose of this visit was to develop cooperation between UNDP, NESDC, MFU and Chiang Rai province in the SDGs project particularly Gender Equality focusing on research and academic activities.

     Moreover, Thailand Policy Lab invited MFU lecturers and students to join the Policy Innovation Exchange (PIX) event which will be organised by UNDP and NESDC on 30 March 2022. Also, Thailand Policy Lab invited MFU students to join “Mental Health Policy for You (TH)” project via its Facebook page aiming to understand the root causes of mental illness of Thai youth especially during COVID-19. Altogether, UNDP, NESDC and MFU are looking for developing the collaborative activities in SDGs projects in fields of mutual interest in the future.
