On 9 May 2022, the School of Nursing and the Global Relations Division, Mae Fah Luang University extended a warm welcome to two exchange students from University of South Bohemia. Ms. Alžběta Šmejkalová and Ms. Blanka Vlková are master’s students from the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, University of South Bohemia, the Czech Republic.
During the exchange programme from 9 May to 3 July 2022, the students will get hands-on experience in Thai healthcare system and services as well as traditional Thai and Chinese medicine at Mae Fah Luang University Hospital, Mae Fah Luang University Medical Center Hospital, Maekaotom Tambon Health Promotion Hospital, and Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara Hospital. Furthermore, they will participate in clinical placement with the third-year nursing students at Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital.
The Thai and Bhutanese nursing student buddies will support the exchange students during their stay at Mae Fah Luang University. It is a good opportunity for the students to exchange their knowledge and experience from different cultures and perspectives which will benefit them as nursing students.
This exchange student programme reflects the collaborative activity under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2013 between the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, University of South Bohemia, the Czech Republic and the School of Nursing, Mae Fah Luang University, Thailand.
