Multimedia Technology and Animation Students Win Honourable Mention in the Short Film Contest 2022

     On 27 July 2022, Ms. Natcha Kaewinchai, Mr. Thanathat Udomsin, and Mr. Itipat Sanphengkhen, the second-year students from the Multimedia Technology and Animation programme were awarded the Honourable Mention receiving a certificate and prize money of 10,000 baht in the Short Film Contest 2022: Promoting Eastern Lanna Cultural Tourism with their work entitled “You Can Trust Me” from Mr. Waradisorn Onnut, Deputy Governor of Chiang Rai Province at Major Cineplex Chiang Rai, CentralPlaza Chiangrai.

     The Short Film Contest 2022: Promoting Eastern Lanna Cultural Tourism was arranged by Chiang Rai Provincial Tourism and Sports Office under the theme “Ma Nuea” (coming to Northern Thailand) aiming to present the distinctive identity of cultural tourism of four Eastern Lanna Provinces through film media and provide an opportunity for young generation to learn how to create short films from experts, famous directors and film-related professionals through a workshop. 

     Out of 46 teams across the nation that applied for competition, MFU team was one of five teams in the final round. The entries were judged by three professionals namely Mr. Bundit Thongdee, Mr. Thanit Jitnukul, Mr. Prachya Pinkaew and two academicians/specialists namely Dr.Pruet Putjorn, a lecturer of the School of Information Technology, Mae Fah Luang University and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarunthita Chanachaiphuwapat.

     The winning teams included:
- The first prize went to FILMFARM team with a short film entitled “MunKlao”
- The second prize went to Lighthouse Studio team with a short film entitled “Workcation” 
- The third prize went to Cat9Life Studio team with a short film entitled “Love Around”
- Two honourable mentions awarded to Ggun Film team with a short film entitled “Come to the North, travel North and Nosanong team (Mae Fah Luang University students) with a short film entitled “You Can Trust Me”.
