Air Chief Marshall Prachin Chantong, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand visits MFU and presides over the signing ceremony of the agreement for Driving Integrated Research to comply with national strategies

      On 19 February 2018, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Air Chief Marshall Prachin Chantong visited Mae Fah Luang University and received a warm welcome from MFU President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanchai Sirichana. In this regard, Air Chief Marshall Prachin Chantong gave the policy of “Integrated research development for complying with the national strategies” for MFU.

      The collaboration agreement was signed between the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the Office of the Higher Education Commission, the Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization), the Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI), the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and Mae Fah Luang University.

      This agreement was aimed at encouraging cooperation in the fields of education, information exchange and research and development. It is hoped that this will enhance research efficiency and establish collaboration networks. The agreement also promotes the application of research outcomes to innovations and new products that will make a valuable contribution to the nation’s potential development.

      With this agreement, MFU and six organizations supporting research development will jointly promote the generation of new knowledge in Science, Technology, Health, Economy, and Society through the MFU’s research. This research is expected to enhance prosperity, security and sustainability of Thailand.

      In addition, after the signing ceremony, Air Chief Marshall Prachin visited research centres at MFU including the Centre of Excellence in Natural Products Innovation, the Centre of Excellence in Fungal Research, the MFU Hospital, MFU Botanical Garden, and the MFU Herbal Medicine Laboratory.
