GREAT Programme: OHSU-MFU Research Course

On 7 - 11 November 2022, the School of Health Science, Mae Fah Luang University and the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) organised the Global Research, Education & Training (GREAT) programme to build the capacity of 27 MFU lecturers and researchers to conduct studies on medicine and public health.

The GREAT programme, started in 2019, is the collaborative research course under the MoU between OHSU and MFU. After completing the course, all participants were equipped with deeper knowledge in the fields of medicine and public health, data management plan, testable research questions, the various study design options for generating and testing hypotheses, and methods for drafting the research projects. The course also served as a bridge for establishing a network between OHSU and MFU researchers.

Overall, this training contributed to strengthening MFU lecturers and researchers’ capabilities to develop, implement and maintain effective research skills, patient care through quality clinical and epidemiologic research.
