On 14 – 15 September 2023, Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyaporn Chueamchaitrakun, Head of the Tea and Coffee Institute at Mae Fah Luang University was invited to attend the 2023 China - ASEAN Tea Industry Vocational Education Cooperation Forum and the serial activities of the "Silk Road Tea Institute" at Guangxi Vocational and Technical College, China.
This forum and the serial activities of the "Silk Road Tea Institute" were hosted by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and organised by the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in collaboration with Guangxi Vocational and Technical College and Go Study Global Education, as the parallel forums of the 2023 China – ASEAN Conference on Vocational Education Cooperation and Development (CACVECD). The forum aimed to strengthen the coordination of tea culture, the tea industry, and tea science and technology under the "Belt and Road" initiative, and promote the new development and new achievements of tea vocational education. Also, the brand launch of "Silk Road Tea Institute" has been carried out as a platform for multi-country cooperation and discussion, and promoting the global sharing of talent training programs in tea production and processing technology area, as well as the standard for teaching and production process standards in the tea industry.
MFU and Guangxi Vocational and Technical College have established the cooreative relationship since 2022. Altogether, the participation in this forum reflects the active engagement of the Tea and Coffee Institute, MFU in strengthening academic exchanges and cooperation with partner universities, which will contribute to the development of the tea industry in ASEAN and beyound.
