MFU Innovation Day 2023 and the 25th Years MFU Exhibition

     On 16 – 17 November 2023, Mae Fah Luang University organised MFU Innovation Day 2023 under a theme of herbs for health promotion, economic and social development and the 25th Years MFU Exhibition at M-square Building to showcase academic achievements of the Schools as well as MFU research and innovations. The event also served as a stage for knowledge exchange and award presentation ceremony including Reinventing University System Awards 2022, World’s Top 2% Scientists 2023, MFU INNO Prize 2023 for researchers, entrepreneurs, and divisions who have outstanding accomplishments in research and innovation development.

     This event engaged all Schools and divisions to showcase their research findings and knowledge in the fields of science and technology, health, economics, and society which can lead to the development of new innovations, products and the effective intellectual property management contributing to creating social and economic benefits.

     Moreover, the event featured a wide range of interesting activities: 25th Years MFU Exhibition; Exclusive Talk (National policy on research and innovation); Exhibition (research results, products of students, entrepreneurs and projects); Seminar (herbs for health promotion and economic development); Workshop (development of natural cocoa to beauty and skincare); and Business Consulting.

     At present, Mae Fah Luang University has demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in academics, research, and innovation. The university has adopted AUN-QA criteria to use as a guideline for further curriculum development and accreditation as well as use the Education Criteria for Performance Excellence (EdPEx) as a framework for improving management quality. In addition, there are over 4,000 papers published in the international journals and almost 80,000 citations.

     Furthermore, MFU has so far applied for more than 300 patents which 73 patents have been utilised for the public and commercial uses (90% of those patents are used for healthcare and beauty industry, aligning with the university’s areas of expertise and excellence).

     Mae Fah Luang Unievrsity has a determination to connect its research findings and innovation with the private sector in order to gain the maximum benefits. Currently, there are over 2,500 SME entrepreneurs who received the university’s services as well as more than 10 industrial companies who have collaborated with MFU to develop innovations.
