On 21 December 2023, Prof. Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University led representatives from the School of Integrative Medicine, the School of Management, the School of Medicine, and the Global Relations Division to warmly welcome Mr. Fakhriddin Sultanov, Consul-General of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kingdom of Thailand and Mr. Nuriddin Mamatkulov, Consul of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kingdom of Thailand at the General Sampao Choosri Building (E4), Mae Fah Luang University.
The objective of the visit was to discuss potential opportunities for academic collaboration between Mae Fah Luang University and educational institutions in Uzbekistan in the fields of integrative medicine, medicine, tourism, transportation and logistics.
During the discussion, delegates from the Consulate-General of Uzbekistan gave a brief introduction of Uzbekistan and Tashkent Medical Academy. In addition, MFU and the Consulate-General explored the cooperative activities covering student exchange, short courses, joint research, and visiting scholar programme in the fields of integrative medicine and medicine between MFU and Tashkent Medical Academy. Moreover, MFU is pleased to jointly conduct research with Uzbekistan on transport and logistics interconnectivity for facilitating international trade between Thailand and Uzbekistan.
Altogether, the visit served as an excellent starting point for future cooperation between Mae Fah Luang University and educational institutions in Uzbekistan which will contribute to supporting the sustainable future and the well-being of people in both Thailand and Uzbekistan.
