On 15 May 2024, a team of healthcare profesionals from the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and MFU Medical Center Hospital, led by Prof.Supakorn Rojananin, MD. Acting Dean of School of Medicine, provided a Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening to over 250 people in Mae Salong Nai subdistrict, Mae Fah Luang district, Chiang Rai province.
Aware of the importance of early detection, MFU aims to help reduce the mortality rate from breast cancer and cervical cancer among women in Chiang Rai province. This project is expected to offer screening services to around 1,750 women in seven remote areas of Chiang Rai province within the fiscal year 2023. The next locations are Wiang Kaen district, Wiang Pa Pao district, Mae Fah Luang district, scheduled for July – August 2024. The university is also planning to offer services at Bokeo Provincial Hospital in Laos.
