Mae Fah Luang University congratulates representatives from the Hospitality Business Management Major, Business Administration Programme, the School of Management who excelled at the international chef competition “the Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge 2024 (TUCC)”. The students were supervised by their instructors, Asst. Prof. Piyanart Junkrachang and Chef Instructor Pasakorn Phukhwanphong, from the School of Management.
The 10th edition of Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge, Thailand’s largest chef competition of the year, was held in conjunction with the THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2024, the largest food and beverage trade show in Asia, which was co-organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce; Thai Chamber of Commerce; Koelnmesse and Thailand Chefs Association at the Impact Muang Thong Thani, in Bangkok from 28 May to 1 June 2024.
This year, over 700 aspiring and top chefs from eight countries around the world competed in 23 different categories. Endorsed by the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS), TUCC is the ultimate convergence of culinary expertise, creativity, and sustainability to inspire the Asian culinary landscape to unprecedented new heights.
MFU representatives participated in 13 competition categories and received awards as follows:
Six Silver Medals
• AEC Cuisine Culinary Challenge: Mr. Nobphadon Miangmoen
• Asian Curry Challenge: Ms. Piyaporn Thongjan
• Classic Thai Cuisine: Ms. Tidchamaiporn Kaewjan
• Classic Thai Cuisine (Professional Class): Ms. Nidnaree Koprae (Teaching Assistant of the Hospitality Business Management programme)
• AEC Cuisine Culinary Challenge (Professional Class): Ms. Thanutra Prangmanee (Teaching Assistant of the Hospitality Business Management programme)
• The second place for Classic Thai Cuisine (Professional Class): Chef Pasakorn Phukhwanphong (Chef Instructor)
