On 17 July 2024, Mae Fah Luang University executives led by Dr. Piyatida Pianluprasidh, Dean of the School of Management along with Asst. Prof. Piyanart Junkrachang, Program Director of Hospitality Business Management, and Dr. Piranun Juntapoon welcomed the executive team from the Yangon Global Enterprise Training Centre from Myanmar.

YGE Training Centre is one of the hospitality and business management training centers in Myanmar. They offer a variety of training options, including workshops, panel discussions, talks, and seminars for both basic operational and management levels. Among their most popular courses are hotel business management and restaurant business management.

MFU’s School of Management, particularly the Hospitality Business Management programme has a strong reputation for equipping students with the knowledge and experience needed to launch and manage hospitality businesses, both domestically and internationally. The programme fosters essential entrepreneurial skills and processes.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential collaborations, including developing diploma and bachelor’s programs aimed at empowering young tourism professionals, and establishing a dual program between the two institutions. As a first step, both parties agreed to develop a short course together. Following the meeting, the YGE team was given a tour of the MFU Culinary Training Center and the M the Food Project, a student-operated restaurant.
