On 3 August 2024, Mae Fah Luang University’s Student Development Affairs Division, MFU Botanical Garden Project, the Student Union, the Student Associations, and the Student Clubs, organised a tree planting activity. This annual activity aimed to foster friendship among new students while cultivating a sense of care and responsibility for the environment.
Over 2,000 first-year students participated, planting 2,000 trees of seven species; Nephelium hypoleucum Kurz., Markhamia stipulata Seem. var. stipulate, Fernandoa adenophylla (Wall. ex G.Don) Steenis, Bombax ceiba Linn., Anogeissus acuminata (Roxb. ex DC.) Wall. ex Guill., Perr., Erythrina subumbrans (Hassk.) Merr., and Phyllanthus emblica L. The trees were planted in the area in front of the Mae Fah Luang University dam.
In alignment with Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra’s philosophy of forest restoration and human development, establishment, the university has consistently engaged students in reforestation projects over its 25-year history to enhance quality of life and restore natural habitats. Notably, nearly every tree on campus was planted by MFU students.
