On 10 August 2024, the Global Relations Division held three exciting activities for new international students: the MFU Campus Tour for New International Student 2024, the International Buddy Programme “First Meet with Buddy”, and Get to Know MFU 360 Degree. Over 50 students participated in each activity.

The MFU Campus Tour aimed to help new students adjust to campus life by introducing them to MFU landmarks and facilities around campus.  During the walk rally activity, new students were divided into groups and completed missions at various locations, including the M-Square building, M4U Center, Lan Thong Chaloem Phra Kiat Vihara, Chinese Language and Culture Center, Library, MFU Learning Space, canteens, HRH Princess Srinagarindra Statue, MFU Sport Complex, and MFU Mekong Basin Civilization Museum.

Additionally, the First Meet with Buddy activity provided a chance for new international students and their senior buddies to officially meet and get to know more about each other through various games. The buddy programme is a crucial part of the university's efforts to welcome and support new international students by providing a friendly first point of contact.

Moreover, Get to Know MFU 360 Degree offered three workshops: Coffee Drip, Tea Blending, Thai Massage. Students were divided into groups and rotated to attend these workshops. The Coffee Drip and Tea blending workshops, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyaporn Chueamchaitrakun, Director of the Tea and Coffee Institute and her team, provided basic information about tea and coffee and offered hands-on experience through tea tasting, sensory evaluation, and hand drip coffee brewing. Furthermore, the lecturers of the School of Integrative Medicine shared techniques for self-massaging and basic massaging with fingertips and compressed balls.

All activities offered an opportunity for students to not only learn more about MFU facilities but also get new friends, appreciate new culture, and improve their collaboration and communication skills within their teams.
