MFU Participates in the 2024 China-ASEAN Education Week: Strengthening Thai-Chinese Academic Collaboration

On 21 August 2024, Mae Fah Luang University delagation including Asst. Prof. Dr.Korakot Chansareewittaya, Assistant to the President, Dr.Nichan Singhaputargun, Acting Head of the Global Relations Division, and Mr. Xukun Zhang, Administrative Officer of the Global Relations Division attended the Thai – Chinese University Presidents Forum on “Enhancing Higher Education Cooperation between Thailand and China” during the 2024 China-ASEAN Education Week (CAECW) at Guizhou Minzu University in China.

The forum, co-hosted by Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, and the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, was organized by Guizhou Minzu University. Building on the strong and enduring relationship between Thailand and China, the forum aimed to provide a platform for representatives from Thai and Chinese universities and government agencies to share experiences, identify opportunities for cooperation, foster relationships, and contribute to the development of policies that support enhanced higher education cooperation between the two countries.

As a representative of Thai universities, Assistant Professor Dr. Korakot Chansareewittaya presented MFU's best collaborative practices, highlighting the potential benefits of increased cooperation. The university has established and strengthened cooperation with Chinese institutions in teaching, research, academic services in fields such as Mycology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the management of the Confucius Institute at Mae Fah Luang University.

Additionally, MFU set up a booth to promote the university’s study programmes, facilities, and admission process to participants, students, and staff from Guizhou Minzu University.
By participating in the forum, MFU explored potential collaboration areas, established new partnerships and strengthened existing relationships with Chinese institutions. This engagement indeed enhanced MFU’s international visibility and paved the way for future collaborations that will benefit students, faculty, and institutions in both Thailand and China.
