On 12 September 2024, the Global Relations Division hosted an information session on the YSEALI Academic Fellowship Programme at M for U Centre. The event aimed to provide students with information about the program and encourage them to apply.
The event featured presentations about the Spring and Fall 2025 YSEALI Academic Fellowship Programme by Mr. Nawin Worawek, a student from the School of Management, and Ms. Pimchon Puanya, a student from the School of Cosmetic Science, who were selected for the Fall 2024 YSEALI Academic Fellowship programme. The presentations covered the application process, eligibility requirements, and tips for completing the application form, preparing a CV, and preparing for interviews.
In addition, Mr. Papangkorn Bunsophap, a student from the School of Social Innovation and a Spring 2024 YSEALI Academic Fellowship alumnus, shared his experience with the participants.
The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Academic Fellows Program (YSEALI AFP) is a U.S. Department of State-sponsored program funded by the U.S. Government and administered by the Mansfield Center at the University of Montana. Designed to develop leadership skills among Southeast Asian youth, enhance U.S.-Southeast Asia relations, and foster a network of leaders who collaborate across borders, YSEALI AFP brings together undergraduate students and recent graduates aged 18-25 from 11 Southeast Asian countries to the U.S.
Participants in this programme embark on a fully-funded, five-week exchange at an American university or college. The program includes an academic residency, community service activities, an educational study tour, a closing workshop, and a Reciprocal Exchange that sends American participants to Southeast Asia.
The application deadline for both the Spring and Fall cohorts of the 2025 YSEALI Academic Fellows Program is 3 October 2024. For more information about the application, please visit https://www.ysealiafp.org/apply
