On 18 September 2024, Mae Fah Luang University’s French-Upper Mekong Subregion Academic Cooperation Centre and the French Embassy in Thailand, jointly organised two significant events to strengthen relations and promote academic cooperation between Thailand and France.

The first event, the 5th Academic Meeting about French researchers, was held at the Vanchai Sirichana Building (AD1). The meeting aimed to foster and develop academic and research cooperation between MFU and French educational institutions and research organisations. MFU lecturers and researchers had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences with French experts, laying the groundwork for future joint research projects. Simultaneously, the 2nd Study in France Education Fair (Campus France) took place at M for U, M-Square Building. This event brought together experts to provide students with information and guidance on courses, scholarships, and life in France.

Prior to the events, a delegation from the French Embassy in Bangkok met with Prof. Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President of MFU, and representatives from various Schools and Divisions at the Mae Khao Tom Meeting Room, Vanchai Sirichana Building (AD1).  The delegation included Dr. Ludovic Andres, Attaché for Scientific and Higher Education Cooperation, and Mr. Johan Brock, Cooperation Officer for Science and Higher Education. This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss ways to enhance academic cooperation between the two countries.

Prof. Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit welcomed the French delegation, emphasising the strong, creative, and long-standing relationship between MFU and France, founded on mutual respect and sincerity. She also highlighted the success of various joint projects carried out through the French-Upper Mekong Subregion Academic Cooperation Centre and expressed MFU’s commitment to developing deeper and more comprehensive cooperation in all academic fields.

These events not only demonstrated the strong bond between MFU and France but also marked a significant milestone in strengthening academic cooperation, research, and student exchange between the two countries, leading to the joint development of knowledge and innovation in the future.
