The university adheres to four core principles: carrying on the royal aspiration of “Restore forest and cultivate people”, being a university for opportunity, adapting to change under a concept of ‘New, Different, and Better’, and maintaining its core strengths of using English as a primary language of instruction and promoting Chinese language education. These principles have shaped MFU into a unique institution with an international outlook and a focus on producing high-quality graduates for societies.

In line with its vision of becoming a University for Well-being and Sustainable Future, MFU has announced Net Zero Campus plan. This three-year initiative aims to achieve carbon neutrality and net zero emissions goals (2024-2026) through 29 projects focused on five strategies:
•    Reducing energy consumption and increasing energy efficiency
•    Promoting the use of clean energy
•    Sustainable waste and wastewater management
•    Promoting environmentally friendly transportation
•    Raising awareness and participation of the university community

Key projects under this plan include installing solar panels on academic buildings, upgrading air conditioning systems for higher efficiency, promoting bicycle use within the university, and establishing a climate change learning center for students and the community. The President has invited all sectors to join MFU in driving towards these goals, creating a sustainable future for the community and the nation.

In addition to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, MFU is committed to environmental research and innovation development. The university is also integrating climate change knowledge into its curriculum to equip graduates with skills and understanding needed to address future environmental challenges.

As Mae Fah Luang University enters its third decade, it not only reflects success in academic and research development but also demonstrates a strong commitment to being part of addressing global challenges and creating a sustainable future for all.
