On 8 November 2024, the School of Sinology in collaboration with the Sinology Student Club, organised the 8th "Sino Show", a stage play titled "解禁白蛇" ("Unleashing the White Snake") at the C4 Auditorium. The event was part of the Chinese Studies Arts Project.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University, presided over the opening ceremony, while Dr.Teeraparp Predeepoch, Dean of the School of Sinology, delivered the welcome speech. The event was attended by university executives, faculty, staff, students, and honoured guests from Chiang Rai province, who gathered to support the team and watch the performance.

"解禁白蛇" (Unleashing the White Snake) is an immortal China love story about the White Snake Queen, Bai Suzhen, who falls in love with a young man named Xu Xian. This legend is considered one of China's Four Great Folktales, alongside Lady Meng Jiang, Match Making, and the Cowherd and Weaver Girl.

The "Sino Show" aimed to provide students from the School of Sinology’s four programmes (Chinese Language and Culture, Business Chinese, Chinese Studies, and Teaching Chinese Language) with opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills in creative extracurricular activities. The event helped students develop essential 21st-century skills, aligning with the strategic goal of fostering global citizens. The stage play, written and performed entirely in Chinese, showcased the students' Chinese language proficiency and various aspects of Chinese cultural arts, including costumes, songs, dance, martial arts, lion dance and dragon dance performances. The event also highlighted the strong historical ties between Thailand and China.
