On 17 January 2025, Prof.Dr.Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President of Mae Fah Luang, welcomed the delegation from the U.S. Consulate General of Chiang Mai, led by Consul General Lisa A. Buzenas, at the reception room, Vanchai Sirichana Building (AD1).
The delegation visited Mae Fah Luang University to deepen relationships and discuss further academic collaboration between two institutions in terms of academic and cultural exchanges through seminars, developing English education and knowledge exchange sessions. The delegation also visited academic facilities including the Sirindhorn Chinese Language and Culture Center and Innovation Park.
Moreover, there were parallel sessions: a special talk titled "Connect to Your Future: Unlock U.S. Education, Scholarships & Internships" presented by representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok and the U.S. Consulate General in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The event aimed to provided MFU students and staff members with information on Student & Exchange Visa, Study in the U.S., Scholarship Opportunities and Student Exchange Program, as well as Internships with the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Thailand. In addition, there was a session “Scholarship Hunting: The YSEALI Journey - From Dreamer to Achiever!” presented by an MFU student who was the YSELI alumnus.
Mae Fah Luang University and the U.S. Consulate General in Chiang Mai have enjoyed a close and active cooperative relationship for many years. This visit and these special events indeed further strengthened the bond between the two institutions and underscored the importance of international cooperation in education and cultural exchange, which will benefit both students and the broader community.
