MFU and YUCM Collaborate on Successful Integrative Medicine Exchange Programme

On 27 January 2025, the School of Integrative Medicine held a Farewell Ceremony for 24 exchange students from Yunnan University of Chinese Medicine (YUCM) who participated in the “Integrative Medicine for Well-Being Training Course.” The ceremony took place at Pradoo Daeng 1 Hall, E4 Building. The event included a certificate presentation by the Dean of Integrative Medicine, performances from MFU Thai Traditional Dance Club and YUCM students, and sharing sessions with representatives from YUCM students and MFU lecturers. 

The School of Integrative Medicine organised the Integrative Medicine for Well-Being Training Course from 1 November 2024 – 28 January 2025. The course provided participants with lectures, field trips in Chiang Rai, community service opportunities, and various workshops on Thai massages, herbs, aromatherapy massage, sports massage, breast massage, sound healing, meditation, yoga, Pilates, hydrotherapy, Thai food for health, and Thai boxing, among other topics. These activities were designed to expand participants’ knowledge and skills in integrative medicine for health promotion, covering Thai traditional medicine, physical therapy, and health science.The programme focused on promoting holistic care by integrating ancient wisdom with modern medicine 

During the three-month programme, participants had the opportunity to connect, share ideas, and exchange expertise and innovations in health science with Thai students and lecturers from the School of Integrative Medicine. The programme not only promoted exchange of academic knowledge but also enhanced Thai-Chinese cultural exchanges. It significantly contributed to the participants’ personal and professional development. Dr.Sulukkana Noiprasert,  Dean of the School of Integrative Medicine, expressed her hope that what they learned would benefit the participants’ lives, studies, and future careers, enabling them to apply their knowledge to advance Chinese traditional medicine or in the treatment of patients.

This exchange programme was part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MFU and YUCM, reflecting the mutual commitment of both universities to advancing integrative medicine at national and international levels, as well as promoting well-being for people in both countries and beyond.
