Minister of Culture Visits the Project on Establishment of Mekong Basin Civilization Museum at MFU

      On 29 October 2018, President of Mae Fah Luang University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanchai Sirichana, Vice President Dr. Phunrawie Promnart and Head of the Project on Establishment of Mekong Basin Civilization Museum Dr. Pollavat Praphattong Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Thailand Mr. Vira Rojpojchanarat and the delegation visited Mekong Basin Civilization Museum at MFU.

      The minister said that the Project on Establishment of Mekong Basin Civilization Museum at MFU is a learning centre for the study and research on history, way of life and culture of the Greater Mekong Subregion. The museum provides academic service and exhibits a collection of archaeological sites, pottery and food. It also showcases the works of Lanna artists which compiles with the Art City policy. This policy will support the social and economic development and drive Chiang Rai province towards security, prosperity, and sustainability.

      With the determination in preserving arts and culture of the GMS countries, the Project on Establishment of Mekong Basin Civilization Museum was established in 2004 to collect cultural objects, photographs and books as well as organises art and cultural activities to consistently promote contemporary aspect of the arts and cultural objects of the museum.
