MFU Sports Complex Centre Organises Basic First Aid and CPR Training for Students and Staff to Prepare for Emergencies

The MFU Sports Complex Center, in collaboration with the School of Health Science and the School of Integrative Medicine, organised a training programme on basic first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on 10 April 2025. The training was attended by 50 students and 20 staff members. The programme consisted of theoretical sessions, held at General Sampao Choosri Building (E4), covering topics such as Basic Life Support (BLS), basic first aid for sprained ankles, wound care (dressing wounds), bandaging techniques, and first aid for accidents occurring in exercise and fitness areas. It also offered participants practical sessions, held at the university swimming pool, to learn how to use life-saving equipment in water rescue situations.

The event was officially opened by Mr. Somyos Chantapoon, Head of the MFU Sports Complex Centre, and featured expert instructors including Dr. Wilawan Chaiut and Asst. Prof. Dr.Ekalak Sitthipornvorakul from the Physical Therapy Programme, School of Integrative Medicine; Asst. Prof. Suphaphorn Utsaha and Dr. Thapakorn Ruanjai from the Public Health Programme, School of Health Science; and Mr. Pongsakorn Rittem an officer from the MFU Sports Complex Centre.

Mr. Somyos Chantapoon stated that the main goal of this training was to reduce the risk of sports-related injuries and to equip staff and students with emergency response plans. The programme aimed to prepare participants to take effective action in the event of a sports-related accident. It also played a vital role in promoting safety awareness and empowering attendees with practical knowledge and life-saving skills that can be applied in real-life emergencies.
