The School of Social Innovation at Mae Fah Luang University is organising a “Train the Trainer: Enhancing Skills and Capabilities for Entrepreneurs Towards Creative Economic Empowerment and Sustainable Growth” programme. This initiative aims to enhance the capacity of women entrepreneurs from Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar under the cooperation framework of ACMECS. Funded by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), the training is being held from 14 – 22 June 2025 at Mae Fah Luang University. The opening ceremony featured remarks by Dr. Thanikun Chantra, Dean of the School of Social Innovation, followed by a project briefing from Dr. Jaruwan Hatapasu, a lecturer at the School of Social Innovation and the Project Leader.

This workshop aims to develop women entrepreneurs into sustainable leaders in the creative economy. The comprehensive training covers topics such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), women’s empowerment, SME business management, AI and digital technology, creative economy for women, and the practical application of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.

As part of the fieldwork, participants will visit San Thang Luang Village in Mae Chan District to study local businesses in handicrafts, arts, and cultural tourism, and engage in a panel discussion with three successful local women entrepreneurs representing Boo Chocolate, Clay and Dreams, and Local Leaves Café.

This project aims to build a collaborative network among women entrepreneurs from four countries, establishing a foundation for the sustainable development of the creative economy in the region. It is a part of the ACMECS framework, which emphasises human resource development and reducing economic disparities in the Mekong sub-region.
