Mae Fah Luang University Promotes Education at Thai Festival in Beijing 2025

From 28 – 29 June 2025, Ms. Wannapha Thippayasak and Mr. Xukun Zhang from the Global Relations Division represented Mae Fah Luang University at the Thai Festival in Beijing 2025, held at Chaoyang Park, Beijing.

Hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing, this vibrant event aimed to offer Chinese visitors an immersive experience of Thailand through its rich food, culture, education, and creative products. It also serves as a significant commemoration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China.

The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Chatchai Viriyavejakul, Ambassador of Thailand to China. Distinguished guests included Mr. Wang Dexin, Counselor from the Department of Asian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China; Mr. Li Haibo, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office; Mr. Inthaphan Buakeow, Deputy Director of the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization); members of Team Thailand; Thai private sector executives based in China; members of the Chinese media; and members of both Thai and Chinese communities in Beijing.

This year’s Thai Festival, themed “Creative Thailand”, transforming Chaoyang Park, home of the Thailand-China Friendship Bell Pavilion, into a colorful showcase of Thai identity. Visitors enjoyed a wide range of Thai culinary delights and explored various exhibition booths featuring: Tom Yum Kung Cooking Demonstration, traditional Thai crafts, Thai tropical fruits and future food innovations, as well as innovative Thai-designed products. The event also included a Thai-language speech contest and stage performances such as traditional Thai dance and workshops, Muay Thai shows and beginner classes, and live music. The two-day festival drew over 15,000 attendees. The Beijing Radio and Television Station provided live coverage, garnering over 320,000 likes across its platforms.

MFU representatives joined the Education Pavilion alongside 12 other leading Thai universities to promote higher education opportunities in Thailand. Participating universities included Assumption University of Thailand, Bangkok University, Chiang Mai University, Dhurakij Pundit University, Mahanakorn University of Technology, Mahidol University, Prince of Songkla University, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-Ok, Rangsit University, Suan Dusit University, and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. 

During the event, MFU representatives provided interested students and parents with updated information on programmes offering for international students, admission requirements, tuition fees, facilities, and student support services. This direct engagement allowed the university not only promote the available study programmes but also to gather valuable insights into the needs and desired programmes of prospective students, which will help them in making appropriate educational choices. Mae Fah Luang University is pleased to have been a part of the Thai Festival in Beijing. Our participation contributes to deepening mutual understanding and appreciation of Thai and Chinese cultures, fostering a lasting and sustainable friendship between the two nations.
