On 22–24 October 2025, the School of Management, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), warmly welcomed a delegation from Chuo University, Japan, as part of the “Komoriya Seminar’s Study Tour 2025”. The study tour aimed at fostering academic collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of economics.

In the welcoming session on 22 October 2025, the delegation met with Dr. Piyatida Pianluprasidh, Dean of the School of Management, and Mr. Rapipong Promnart, lecturer in Economics and the main coordinator of the programme.

The delegation included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yoshimasa Komoriya from the Faculty of Economics, Chuo University, and 17 third-year students majoring in Economics. During their visit, the delegation participated in academic and cultural activities both at MFU and in Chiang Rai province.

At Mae Fah Luang University, the programme included a campus tour introducing the visitors to the university’s learning environment and facilities, followed by a mini academic seminar with MFU’s Economics students. The seminar served as a platform for academic exchange and dialogue between Thai and Japanese students, with a total of 33 participants taking part in the session.

Chuo University stated that this visit strengthened the relationship between the two universities and promoted a deeper mutual understanding between Thailand and Japan. The two institutions have long maintained close ties through student exchange programmes, which Mr. Rapipong Promnart has played a key role in developing and sustaining.

Beyond academic activities, the Chuo University delegation also visited various sites in Chiang Rai province, including Ruammit Elephant Camp, the Golden Triangle, the Hall of Opium, Chiang Saen, Nature Future Farm, and Thai Cosmos Foods Factory. These study visits provided valuable insights into the economic and social context of Northern Thailand, with a particular focus on the economic history and trade dynamics of the Greater Mekong Subregion.

This programme reflects MFU’s commitment to expanding international academic networks and serves as a platform for future collaboration in student and faculty exchanges, as well as joint research initiatives. It also provides opportunities for both students and faculty members to develop a global perspective and a deeper understanding of the economic and social landscape of Asia.

Through this exchange, students from both universities gained valuable academic perspectives, cross-cultural understanding, and professional networking opportunities, preparing them for success in the global workforce.
