MFU Strengthens Its International Standing in the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for Life Sciences and Medical and Health

Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) continues its commitment to enhancing the quality of teaching and research, as reflected in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026. The results highlight the University’s sustained progress and growing international recognition in two strategic disciplines–Life Sciences and Medical and Health–which have been central to MFU’s academic development and research mission. 

Life Sciences: Ranked Joint 1st in Thailand
In the field of Life Sciences, MFU is ranked in the 301–400 range globally and is placed joint first in Thailand. This achievement reflects the University’s comprehensive integration of education and research in the biological sciences. Academic excellence in this area is driven by the School of Science, the School of Agro-Industry, and the School of Cosmetic Science, working in synergy with specialized research institutes. These include the Tea and Coffee Institute, the Center of Excellence in Fungal Research, the Medicinal Plants Innovation Center, Center of Excellence in Natural Products Innovation. Together, these units support knowledge creation and promote the translation of research into practical and societal applications.

Medical and Health: Ranked Joint 5th in Thailand
In the field of Medical and Health, MFU is ranked in the 801–1000 range globally and placed joint fifth in Thailand. The University demonstrates strong capacity in multidisciplinary health sciences education through the School of Nursing, the School of Medicine, the School of Dentistry, the School of Health Science, the School of Integrative Medicine, and the School of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. This academic strength is reinforced by the Mae Fah Luang University Medical Center, including the Mae Fah Luang University Medical Center Hospital, the Wellness Center, and the Mae Fah Luang University Hospital (Bangkok Campus). These facilities provide a solid foundation for integrating education, clinical research, and comprehensive healthcare services, contributing to regional and cross-border health development. 

The THE World University Rankings by Subject employ a comprehensive set of performance indicators across five core pillars: teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry, covering 11 major subject areas. MFU’s performance across these dimensions reflects its steady institutional development and growing influence within the international higher education landscape.

This recognition reaffirms MFU’s ongoing commitment to producing high-quality graduates capable of navigating future global challenges while actively contributing to social well-being, in alignment with the university’s vision of being “The University for Well-being and Sustainable Future.”
