Five Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) students have joined the OCA International Exchange Programme, collaborating with five student leaders from Japan under the Student Volunteer Programme at Maekok Foundation in Chiang Rai. This programme is supported by the MRA Foundation, Japan.
Taking place from 9–15 March 2026, the programme brings Thai and Japanese students together to learn, volunteer, and create meaningful experiences for local children. Throughout the week, participants are engaging in a range of activities including teaching Japanese and Thai classes to children, participating in tree planting, repairing foundation buildings damaged by flooding, and organising interactive activities designed to bring joy and learning opportunities to the foundation’s children.
Beyond hands-on volunteer work, the programme serves as a valuable platform for cross-cultural exchange and youth leadership development. It further strengthens collaboration between MFU and leading Japanese universities, including Chuo University, Tokyo Woman’s Christian University, and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
Through shared experiences and community engagement, the programme aims to build lasting friendships, foster mutual understanding, and empower young leaders to make a positive impact across cultures.
