MFU Win Award in Thailand Research Expo 2019

      On 7- 10 April 2019, Mae Fah Luang University received an honourable mention and a prize of 10,000 baht from the Secretary-General of the National Research Council of Thailand, Professor Sirirurg Songsivilai, M.D., Ph.D. in Thailand Research Expo 2019 at Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld in Bangkok.

      In this forum, Mae Fah Luang University presented 13 research studies from the School of Science, the School of Health Science, the School of Agro-Industry and the School of Cosmetic Science under a concept of “Waste to Wealth” which requires the application of research in solving problem and adding value to community waste and agricultural waste.

     The studies presented in Thailand Research Expo 2019 includes the Review of Solid Waste Management Cost and the Life Cycle Assessment of Solid Waste Management Systems: Principles and customization for Local Governments in Thailand by Dr. Panate Manomaivibool from the School of Science; Nanocellulose-Reinforced “Green” Composite Materials and Bee Hive from Bio Based Composites by Assist. Prof. Dr. Nattakan Soykeabkaew from the School of Science; Zero Waste in ‘Phulae’ Pineapple Processing by Assist. Prof. Dr. Sutthiwal Setha, Assist. Prof. Dr. Phunsiri Suthiluk and Dr.Wirongrong Tongdeesoontorn from the School of Cosmetic Science, for instance.

      Moreover, in this conference, Assistant to the President, Dr. Chutamat Niwat received a certificate from Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Air Chief Marshall Prachin Chantong for facilitating research and innovation workshop for Thai researchers in collaboration with the National Research Council of Thailand.

    These accomplishments are the proof of MFU’s determination in accumulating knowledge, conducting research and transferring that knowledge to community in order to improve people’s quality of life and promote the sustainable development of Thailand and the nearby region.
